Busy

Wow I've been busy! I had drill this weekend and started a new job this week so the schedule change is taking a little getting used to.
Thankfully tomorrow will be a regular day and boy do I have plans for my free afternoon! I plan on making a few necklaces that compliment the style of earrings I've got up and get them listed in my store. I also want to design a set and start creating it so that I can get it listed this week.
Time for some cuddles with my kitty and then off to my second job for today...yeah?!?

Whew!

Alright, I got all discombobulated and certainly didn't keep up with this the best BUT in my defense I have gained a lot of ground.
I have several sets of earrings all ready to go and the layouts for their listings all ready. I have several more items I'm going to get listing ready today and I'm really hoping to open up my shop and go live today or tomorrow at the latest!
I'm so super excited and I have officially set a reminder so that I type up an entry on my journey 5 times a week. I may not always get a lot of info out there but at the least I'll give you an inside peek at new items I'm creating and the woman behind this sweet crafty stuff!!!

Pictures!

Ok, a day late and a dollar short but I can't help it. I got distracted making new things! So here's a few picture of things I've finished so far.
Now I'm gonna make more stuff! I'm thinking I need a matching style of bracelet to go with the earrings!

Stocking up

I have been on a fantastic shopping hunt over the last several days stocking up on little bits and trinkets that I realized I was in need of once I started making things for my store. #1 on that list was a good pair of sewing scissors, the cheap ones I had been getting along with for so long were no longer cutting it... He he! I know, bad pun.
Anyways, I now have a small collection of jewelry findings, wire, zippers, clasps, d-rings, bias tape, and several other small but very necessary items at the ready. A fantastic benefit of which is that my creativity is no longer stalled out by deciding weather or not I should stop to run to the craft store or change my idea of how I wanted to make my items.
It's a big relief to have the right items and I've set off on making some new items and getting fresh new ideas for things I want to make and put in my store!

Hopefully that catches you up a bit. I think tomorrow will be a mini photoshoot for the few items I have finished to make a pre-opening debut... Is anyone else as excited as me? Probably not, I'm pretty pumped!

Now to build a photo area...

Well I now have two handbags just for my store inventory! I finished the bag from the shorts and technically just finished up a bag I had started making awhile ago. Either way I now need to figure out how I want to photograph my pieces and then put some pics up so I can brag a little and get some feedback. I've been getting really into this whole process and I'm loving it! I'm so excited and hopefully I'll be able to set a grand opening day goal this week to plan on actually putting my store live!
So excited!

Step 1: Make inventory

Too easy, right? Well today is the day I start building up my inventory. I have a clean workspace and my own personal version of organized (which I'm hoping continues to improve as I go) so I'm gonna start making things specifically for my store inventory today.
The first things I'm working on are a laptop bag and a purse made from recycled clothing. I've made myself and a few friends purses from clothes I really needed to decommisssion from my closet but couldn't quite stand to throw away (ta dah, a product idea is born). I get compliments on mine and would love to be able to share that pride in something handmade with love and a story behind it. Plus with my love for purses it makes it all the more special to have a recycled handbag that matches my character then something that's just mass produced with a big name label.
The laptop bag will be made from an old skirt I'm too in love with the patteren to throw out and I have a cute handbag planned for some gym shorts where the elastic has stopped being elastic at all.

Ok, enough planning. I'm gonna get to work and I'll keep you updated as I go. (I would like to believe there are some real people out there I'm talking to and using as motivation. Give me a sign, at least a hello would be awesome!)
