Now to build a photo area...

Well I now have two handbags just for my store inventory! I finished the bag from the shorts and technically just finished up a bag I had started making awhile ago. Either way I now need to figure out how I want to photograph my pieces and then put some pics up so I can brag a little and get some feedback. I've been getting really into this whole process and I'm loving it! I'm so excited and hopefully I'll be able to set a grand opening day goal this week to plan on actually putting my store live!
So excited!

Step 1: Make inventory

Too easy, right? Well today is the day I start building up my inventory. I have a clean workspace and my own personal version of organized (which I'm hoping continues to improve as I go) so I'm gonna start making things specifically for my store inventory today.
The first things I'm working on are a laptop bag and a purse made from recycled clothing. I've made myself and a few friends purses from clothes I really needed to decommisssion from my closet but couldn't quite stand to throw away (ta dah, a product idea is born). I get compliments on mine and would love to be able to share that pride in something handmade with love and a story behind it. Plus with my love for purses it makes it all the more special to have a recycled handbag that matches my character then something that's just mass produced with a big name label.
The laptop bag will be made from an old skirt I'm too in love with the patteren to throw out and I have a cute handbag planned for some gym shorts where the elastic has stopped being elastic at all.

Ok, enough planning. I'm gonna get to work and I'll keep you updated as I go. (I would like to believe there are some real people out there I'm talking to and using as motivation. Give me a sign, at least a hello would be awesome!)

Getting Started

Ok, so I'm getting ready and setting up tasks for myself with the goal of getting an etsy shop up and running...
I've always been crafty and I love making all different types of things from knit scarves, crocheted animals, to anything I can think of to sew or repurpose old clothes as well as a bunch of things in between. I figure that starting up this blog will be a chance for new customers to get to know about me and my behind the scenes methods for why and how I make what I do. It's also a great public kick in the butt for me to stick with my plan and get my store going.

I'm not sure how to do all this yet so bear with me while I figure it all out and get into a regular posting schedule.
